A cup of cooked orange lentils provides almost all of the daily amount recommended for folic acid consumption. Why orange lentil soup? Orange lentils are the fastest lentils for cooking, very soft after cooking, which makes orange lentils perfect for making soup.
Boil water in a pot and cook the orange lentils for about 15 minutes.
Drain the lentils and rinse well under cold water.
In a large soup pot, fry onions until it becomes translucent. We will add turmeric and mix.
Now we will add tomato, celery, salt, chicken broth and the orange lentils to the pot.
Fill the pot with boiling water and bring to a boil.
Turn down the flame and cook the soup for about an hour, until the lentils are soft.
You can grind the soup to make a thick lentil soup, or eat that way.
